BBC Wildlife Fund; i donated 2 prints which raised £610-oo!
24 Jun 2010 9:42 am
I heard about BBC Wildlife Fund whilst watching Springwatch (great program)and wanted to help so i got incontact saying if they are interested i would love to donate 2 of my giclee prints 'Contemplate' (Orangutan) and 'Thoughtful Moment...' limited edition giclee print (Gorilla) was delighted when they accepted my offer!...Wildlife is always in my heart and always humbles me...i have a huge passion for wildlife; wildlife inspires me and i show my apreciation of them through my artwork so its always a great pleasure to give back to the wild. Through my drawings i also hope to raise awareness of the importance of preserving wildlife and supporting the invaluable projects undertaken by charities such as these to protect the animals we love, their environments and the communities which share these environments (again which i saw when watching Wild Night In) raising awareness to protect there habitats and like their work with Tusk they are coming up with fantastic ways for the locals to live along side the wildlife. Also funding the comunities work in a way that does this preserving our wildlife which is incredible especially when you see their faces to of pride towards their work and wildlife-priceless! BBC Wildlife Fund is an amazing charity supporting threatened/endangered wildlife in both British and around the world which i will continue supporting like many others...you can still donate now if you go on www.bbc.co.uk/wild please help raise the funds as every little helps and is helping in great lengths. We need to do all we can for all these great charities so future generations see our precious wildlife all over the world. If you saw the program Wild Night In Sunday, an amzing 2 hour show updating us on where the funds are going and what they are acheiving, it was touching to see the passion, compassion, dedication and hard work of everyone all getting togther to support wildlife. (All the springwatch presenters were great!) One of the clips was of Borneo Orangutan ophans (arh just their little faces-makes me wana go straight over ther and help)you may have seen before called Orangutan Island or Diaries what the lady called Lone and her team are doing is just incredible such dedication, I have so much admiration for Lone and her team who work so hard and tirelessly for all the orphans raising them and making them aware of the dangers like their mother would have and watching them respond to Lone always hits a nerve just special; special bond...also Lone is buying up rainforest and re-introducing once old enough (plus after her tests too) they are released back into the wild again what an acheivement!...then another cip was sea horses; 95% decline (i couldnt believe it) until they show you the ways in which they fished the reefs...another shock...the look of the coral and its stunning tropical like turned to a deserted bomb zone a graveyard lifeless, ciminal what they do. After seeing myself the stunning corals and it marine life it quite breath taking like your in another world...then the clip showed you the difference dedication from a lady from london zoo and the funds together with the education it has changed tramendously and the corals are alive again Kate Humble even showed us a heavily pregnant male sea horse amazing to see!-just like she said what a great sign of change and acheivements. There are look out where they are going down the coast protecting the corals and their sea horses and tropical marine life and now the locals all doing it which is fantastic the locals living and working alongside their precious wildlife...this is just two of many being supported by the BBC Wildlife Fund, just to name a few more like kestrals, bats, etheopian wolves, mountain gorillas, macaws and many more...please donate as much as you can to help our wildlife and save their futures...to find out more what animals the fundraising goes towards please go to www.bbc.co.uk/wild it is making a difference be apart of the acheivements many thanks x (To watch 'Wild Night In' again or for the first time go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ss2h1 hope you enjoy...) also look out for my name; was lovely surprise when my name went across screen when they were thanking people for donations was an amazing feeling!-it was a pleasure donating them and being a part of helping and giving back to wildlife!
